About the Project

The independent design was essential to avoid loading the existing structure during the roof strip and replacement. As a result, the scaffold stood entirely freestanding and provided full coverage to the areas where roofing works were required.

Scope of Works

The project covered several key areas. First, the team erected an independent scaffold to the front and left-hand side elevations. Second, they installed working platforms at roof level for the roofing contractor.

In addition, the team fitted edge protection and debris netting to protect the areas below. They also built a loading bay for safe materials handling during the re-roofing works. The scaffold was maintained and inspected throughout the project. Finally, the team carried out a safe dismantle on completion of all roof works.

Health and Safety

Working on an occupied residential property in Bournemouth required careful attention to safety. The team prepared full RAMS before works began. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding cards.

Furthermore, the scaffold was inspected regularly and inspection records were maintained throughout. Public protection measures including debris netting and warning signage were in place. Consequently, all works were compliant with TG20 and EN 12811 standards.
