Project Description

Lyndhurst Park Hotel, Lyndhurst – Independent Progressive Scaffolding

The client appointed High-Tek Scaffolding to design and erect independent progressive scaffolding at the Lyndhurst Park Hotel to facilitate the construction of new build flats as part of Phase D of the development. In addition, the team erected the scaffold progressively to allow the build programme to advance efficiently, providing safe access at each stage of construction. Located in the heart of the New Forest, this project required careful coordination to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding area while maintaining the highest safety standards throughout.

About the Project

The Lyndhurst Park Hotel is a well-known landmark in the heart of Lyndhurst, the capital of the New Forest in Hampshire. As part of an ongoing redevelopment programme, Phase D involved the construction of new build flats on the hotel site.

Therefore, High-Tek Scaffolding provided the independent progressive scaffolding solution. The scaffold was designed to advance progressively alongside the construction programme. As a result, it provided access as each level of the new build was completed. This demanded careful planning, precise erection and close coordination with the principal contractor throughout.

Scope of Works

The project covered several key areas. First, the team erected an independent progressive scaffold in phases to match the construction programme. Second, they installed working platforms and edge protection at each level as the build advanced.

In addition, the team built loading bays and materials handling areas to support the construction trades. They fitted debris netting to all elevations to contain materials and protect the areas below. The scaffold was adapted and extended as each floor of the new build was completed. Finally, the team carried out a phased dismantle in reverse order as works were finished at each level.

Health and Safety

Working on a live hotel site in the centre of Lyndhurst required exemplary safety management. The team prepared full RAMS, and submitted them for approval before works began. In addition, all operatives held current CISRS scaffolding qualifications.

Moreover, every operative completed a site-specific induction before accessing the site. Strict segregation of work areas protected hotel guests, staff and the public at all times. The site team carried out and documented regular scaffold inspections throughout. Consequently, the team erected all scaffolding in full compliance with BS EN 12811 and TG20:21 guidance, with zero incidents recorded.

Our Service

High-Tek Scaffolding provided a responsive, reliable and professional service from initial enquiry through to final dismantle. The team worked flexibly around the construction programme, advancing the scaffold as the build progressed. As a result, access was always available when the trades needed it. Furthermore, the team maintained a tidy site and minimised disruption to the hotel and surrounding area.
