Project Description

Sidney Gale House, Bridport – Asbestos Removal Scaffold

High-Tek Scaffolding designed and erected a full wrap scaffold at Sidney Gale House in Bridport, Dorset. The project was carried out for Rhodar in support of a major asbestos removal programme. The scaffold provided safe working access to all elevations of the residential block. In addition, hoarded access gates at ground level protected the public and site operatives throughout.

About the Project

Sidney Gale House is a residential block in Bridport, Dorset. Rhodar, one of the UK’s leading environmental and demolition contractors, appointed High-Tek Scaffolding to provide the full access scaffold for asbestos removal works.

As a result, the project required careful planning. The scaffold had to meet the specific requirements of the asbestos removal programme while maintaining public safety at all times.

Scope of Works

The project involved several key elements. First, the team designed and erected a complete wrap scaffold to all elevations of Sidney Gale House. Second, they installed working platforms at every level to support the asbestos removal contractor.

Furthermore, the team fitted full sheeting and containment to the scaffold perimeter. They also installed hoarded access gates at ground level to control site entry and protect the public. Loading bays supported safe materials removal throughout the works. Finally, the team carried out a controlled dismantling upon completion of the asbestos removal works.

Health and Safety

Working on an asbestos removal project demands the highest standards of health and safety. The team submitted full RAMS, which were approved before works began on site. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding cards.

Moreover, every operative completed a site-specific induction before starting work. Strict exclusion zones and hoarding were maintained throughout to protect the public. Regular scaffold inspections were carried out and documented in accordance with BS EN 12811. Consequently, the project maintained full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations throughout.

Our Service

High-Tek Scaffolding delivered a prompt, professional service from initial survey through to final dismantle. The team worked closely with Rhodar to ensure the scaffold met the programme requirements at every stage. As a result, the project was completed safely, on time and without incident.
