Project Description
Marketplace, Ringwood – Temporary Roof Scaffolding
High-Tek Scaffolding were appointed to design and erect a temporary roof scaffolding structure for a small retail shop located at Marketplace on Ringwood High Street. The temporary roof was required to provide full weather protection while essential roof repairs were carried out, ensuring the shop could continue to trade throughout the works. Situated in the heart of Ringwood’s busy town centre, the project required careful planning to minimise disruption to the public and neighbouring businesses.
About the Project
Marketplace is a well-known retail area in the centre of Ringwood, a popular market town in Hampshire close to the New Forest. When a small shop on the high street required urgent roof repairs, High-Tek Scaffolding provided a temporary roof scaffolding solution.
The structure fully enclosed the roof area and provided complete weather protection. As a result, repair works could be carried out safely regardless of conditions. Furthermore, the shop remained open and trading throughout the works.
Scope of Works
The project involved several key elements. First, the team erected a temporary roof scaffolding structure providing full weather protection over the shop roof. Second, they installed an independent scaffold around the building to support the temporary roof and provide working platforms.
In addition, the team fitted edge protection and containment to protect the public below. They also built a loading bay for safe materials handling during the roof repair works. The scaffold was designed to allow the shop to continue trading with full customer access maintained. Finally, the team carried out a controlled dismantle on completion of all repair works.
Health and Safety
Working on a busy high street required careful attention to public safety. The team prepared full RAMS, which were submitted and approved before works began. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding cards.
Moreover, safe public access was maintained around the scaffold and to the shop entrance at all times. The team also protected shop customers throughout the project. Pedestrian management measures were implemented on the high street during erection and dismantle. The scaffold was inspected regularly and documented in full compliance with BS EN 12811 and TG20:21 guidance.
Our Service
High-Tek Scaffolding provided a responsive, reliable and professional service from initial enquiry through to final dismantle. The team worked flexibly around the shop’s trading hours to minimise disruption. As a result, the temporary roof was erected quickly and efficiently. The team maintained a tidy site and ensured safe pedestrian access at all times.
