About the Project

Seasalt Cornwall is a well-known British clothing retailer with stores across the UK. When their Dorchester high street location required essential building maintenance and exterior repair works, High-Tek Scaffolding provided a full commercial scaffolding solution.

The scaffold was erected across the full front elevation of the property. Blue debris netting protected pedestrians and shoppers below while works were carried out at height. Furthermore, the store remained open and trading throughout the works.

Scope of Works

The project involved several key elements. First, the team erected a full-height commercial scaffold across the front elevation of the building. Second, they installed blue debris netting to the full scaffold face to protect pedestrians and the town centre environment.

In addition, the team fitted working platforms at all levels to give contractors safe access for maintenance and repairs. They also installed edge protection and toe boards to contain materials during the works. The scaffold was designed to maintain full customer access to the Seasalt store entrance. Finally, the team carried out a tidy dismantle on completion of all maintenance works.

Health and Safety

Working on a busy high street required careful attention to public safety. The team prepared full RAMS, which were approved before works began. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding qualifications.

Moreover, safe pedestrian access was maintained along the high street and to the store entrance at all times. The scaffold was inspected weekly and documented in full compliance with BS EN 12811. Consequently, the project was completed safely and without incident.
