About the Project

Regency Court is a substantial commercial block in Boscombe, Bournemouth. The refurbishment programme required scaffolding to all external elevations. This allowed contractors to carry out facade repairs, window replacement and general building maintenance.

As a result, High-Tek Scaffolding designed and erected an independent tied scaffold system. The design met the programme requirements while maintaining public safety throughout the project.

Scope of Works

The project covered several key areas. First, the team erected a full independent tied scaffold system to all perimeter elevations of Regency Court. Second, they installed working platforms at every level to give contractors safe access for facade and external works.

In addition, the team fitted pavement protection, covered walkways and fans to protect pedestrians below. They also installed debris netting and containment to all elevations. Loading bays supported materials handling throughout the refurbishment works. The scaffold was adapted as the works progressed through different elevations. Finally, a phased dismantle followed the contractor’s programme.

Health and Safety

Managing a large perimeter scaffold in a busy urban location required a robust health and safety approach. The team submitted full RAMS, which were approved before works began. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding qualifications.

Furthermore, the team implemented and maintained a pedestrian management plan throughout the works. Covered walkways and fans protected the public from overhead working. Weekly scaffold inspections were carried out and recorded in accordance with BS EN 12811. Consequently, the project maintained full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations throughout.
