Project Description
Radar Way Warehouse, Christchurch – Roof Access Scaffolding
High-Tek Scaffolding designed and delivered a bespoke access scaffold at Radar Way in Christchurch. As a result, the scaffold provided safe and secure working platforms for roof replacement and maintenance works to the warehouse facility. Because of this, industrial and commercial roof access scaffolding demands a robust engineered solution to keep operatives safe at height.
About the Project
The Radar Way warehouse in Christchurch required extensive roof works. As a result, a purpose-designed scaffold access solution to the roof area was essential. High-Tek Scaffolding worked with the client and roofing contractor to design a scaffold that provided full roof access. Furthermore, the design accommodated the operational constraints of the working warehouse facility.
Scope of Works
The project involved several key elements. First, the team designed and erected a full bespoke roof access scaffold to the Radar Way warehouse. Second, they installed working platforms at roof level to provide safe access for all roofing contractors.
In addition, the team fitted edge protection and debris netting around the full perimeter of the scaffold. They also built loading bays to support safe materials handling during the roof works. The scaffold was carefully planned to maintain operational access for the warehouse throughout. Finally, the team carried out a safe and tidy dismantle upon completion of all roof works.
Health and Safety
Roof access scaffolding on a live commercial warehouse site requires a proactive approach to safety management. The team prepared full RAMS, which were approved before works began on site. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding qualifications.
Moreover, every operative completed a site-specific induction before starting work. Edge protection was maintained and inspected throughout the project. The scaffold was inspected weekly and documented in line with BS EN 12811 requirements. Consequently, all works were carried out in full compliance with the Working at Height Regulations 2005.
Our Service
High-Tek Scaffolding delivered a prompt, professional service at Radar Way. The client and roofing contractor had a safe, well-maintained scaffold throughout the project. As a result, the team were responsive and the project was completed safely and on programme.
