About the Project

The two residential blocks on Saint Winifred’s Road required comprehensive roof works. As a result, safe and compliant scaffold access to the full roof area was essential. High-Tek Scaffolding designed and erected a bespoke roof access solution tailored to each block.

Scope of Works

The project covered several key areas. First, the team designed and erected a full roof access scaffold to both residential blocks. Second, they installed working platforms and edge protection at roof level for the roofing contractor.

In addition, the team fitted debris netting and toe boards to protect residents and the areas below. They also built loading bays for safe materials handling during the roof works. The phased erection and dismantle followed the roofing contractor’s programme sequence. Finally, the team completed a full dismantle on completion of all roof works to both blocks.

Health and Safety

Working on occupied residential blocks in a suburban location required a highly safety-conscious approach. The team submitted full RAMS, which were approved by all relevant parties before works began. All operatives held current CISRS scaffolding qualifications.

Moreover, residents were notified and kept informed throughout the project via building management. Vehicle access and pedestrian safety were carefully managed during the erection and dismantle phases. The scaffold was inspected weekly and after adverse weather in accordance with BS EN 12811. Consequently, all edge protection was maintained and documented throughout the roof works.
